Sofia Margarita Vergara (Spanish: 10 July 1972) is a Colombian-American actress, television producer, presenter, and model. Vergara was the highest-paid female actress on American television from 2013 and 2020. Vergara rose in prominence in her role as host of two programs on Univision's Spanish-language TV network in the mid-90s. Chasing Papi (2003) was her first significant acting role in English. She then appeared in Four Brothers (2005) and Tyler Perry's comedies Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009) with an ALMA Award nomination for the latter.
