Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland was born in New York City to actors Melissa D. Canaday and Edward James Hyland. She started in the business at the age 4 with commercial work as well as voice-overs. Private Parts was her first film. Then she moved to The Object of My Affection (1998) and later spent time on Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" A child who was discovered in the park, and fostered by Josie and Gary. Sarah worked alongside Amy Carlson ("Josie") a few more times: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast as one of the younger "Audrey Hepburns" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000) in the same year that she was also cast as "Molly" on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999) with Kathy Bates, Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth. She also appeared in Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Sarah studied voice in jazz, tap and hip-hop along with film and television work. Sarah, a New Yorker, also performed as an invited performer in her tap and Theater dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. When she was home-schooled by her mother, she attended a public school through second grade. Sarah was accepted in 6th year to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) and stayed there until she graduated in 2008 Sarah at the time was 18, moved to Los Angeles, CA, after which she became an aircraft pilot named "My American Family". Once picked up the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). Sarah currently portrays Haley Dunphy, the oldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) won many awards, including the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
