Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger was born on the 25th of April 1969, in Katy, Texas, Her mother Kjellfrid Irene (Andreassen) is a Norwegian-born former nurse and midwife. She is of Norwegian, Kven (Finnish) and Swedish descent. Emil Erich Zellweger is her father. He is a Swiss engineer. The couple were married in 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's brother, and he was born on 15 February 1967. While working in the drama club, Renee became interested in acting. In Austin she also took an acting class and began to pursue acting as a career. After graduation, she wished to go back to acting, but Hollywood is a tough city to get into, so Renee decided to stay in Texas and attempted to audition for roles in Houston and managed to grab roles in such films as Reality Bites (1994) and Empire Records (1995). While working on the sequel to that film, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) She made friends with Matthew McConaughey, another Hollywood newcomer. McConaughey was working on an initiative at the time which Renee was intrigued by. She which she auditioned for and ultimately won the part in the movie Love and a .45 (1994), which brought her critical acclaim that she decided to relocate to Los Angeles. Then she was offered a part in The Whole Wide World (1996) that gave her an opportunity to make her debut as a major actress. Cameron Crowe was busy casting his next film which was Jerry Maguire (1996),starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was looking at actresses like Bridget Fonda (Camden Diaz), Winona Ryder (Winona Ryder), and Marisa Tomei when he saw Zellweger's performance in The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger and felt confident she was his Dorothy Boyd. After her successes in a couple of independent films, Renee felt confident enough for her return to the large-budget Hollywood film industry. She was a co-star with Meryl Streep in the tear-jerker One True Thing (1998). She also starred in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) in a role opposite Jim Carrey and shortly after she began to date Jim Carrey. In the role of the title character in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001).
